The Sixteen, led by master choral singer Harry Christophers, is the world's premier harmony ensemble from the choral kingdom of Great Britain. The Sixteen's UK tour "Choral Pilgrimage," which will take them to some 30 cities and towns, will be themed "England" in 2018, with Benjamin Britten and William Cornish! As exemplified by "Sacred and Secular," The Sixteen's program of Britten's choral works is one of their eighteenth-century favorites, and the cross-century program with the music of Cornish, a 16th century English Renaissance musician, will lead us on a "pilgrimage" through the history and evolution of the country's choral music. In addition, three newly recorded Cornish works for this album enhance the reissue of Britten's and Cornish's masterpieces. Tokyo M-Plus
