Tenor star Javier Camarena's first release on the PENTATONE label is a collection of opera arias by Donizetti, his debut on the PENTATONE label! The collection focuses not only on famous scenes from Donizetti's masterpieces "The Wonderful Medicine of Love", "Robert Devereux", and "Don Pasquale", but also on lesser recorded and hidden masterpieces such as "Vetri", "Maria of the Rudenz", and "The Last Thursday before the Fourth Kalvat". The performance showcases Camarena's outstanding singing ability and Fritza's outstanding taste. The recording was made at the Donizetti Opera House in Bergamo, the composer's hometown, as part of the annual Donizetti Festival. Fritza is the music director of the festival. Riccardo Frizza, who conducts at some of the world's leading opera houses, has released "Donizetti's Queen Trilogy" (PTC-5186970) with Sondra Radvanovsky and the Chicago Lyric Opera on the PENTATONE label. Orchestra Ri-Originari was founded as a result of the Donizetti Festival.The aim is to perform operas from the early 19th century, using period instruments and a historically based approach. *No Japanese obi is included.
