The eighth release on the PENTATONE label with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, led by the world-renowned conductor Gustavo Gimeno, features a recording of Franck's symphonies and symphonic variations with the talented pianist Denis Kožuhin. Jimeno was appointed principal percussionist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2001. He has since studied conducting to further his studies as a musician, and is one of the first young musicians whose talent has blossomed: he served as assistant conductor to Mariss Jansons at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons, and in January 2014, he made his He made his debut with the Concertgebouw and became a conductor attracting worldwide attention, making his Japan debut in September 2013 with the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by two more visits to Japan in 2015.In November of the same year, he made a very successful tour of Japan with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and his name became well known in the Japanese music world. I enjoyed this performance of Franck's music. In September 2017, he performed with the NHK Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Paavo Järvi, and his magnificent performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 4 (1941 version) attracted a great deal of attention.
