In this album of works by the Spanish master Falla, Mari Kodama plays the solo part in "Night in a Spanish Garden" for piano and orchestra. The piano part requires not only extremely difficult technique but also a peculiar folkloric expression, but Kodama's performance is nothing short of superb, with a sense of stability and eloquence. Kodama's performance is nothing short of superb, with a stability and eloquence that give us a glimpse into the spiritual depths of Falla's music. Although it is a concerto piece, the orchestra is large and full, as if it were a symphony. Kazuki Yamada's leadership shines through. Even more exciting is the complete version of the ballet music "The Triangular Hat. Mezzo-soprano Sophie Harmsen, who grew up in South Africa, sings with passion.
