This third recording focuses on songs, including "Songs of a Wandering Young Man," "Rückert Songs," and "Songs for a Lost Child. The soloist is Alice Couto from England. Based in England, Alice Couto is a talented singer who has sung at the Bavarian State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, and the San Francisco Opera, among others. Her carefully crafted singing strongly appeals to the listener's senses. Couto, who has also received favorable reviews for "Songs of the Earth" (PTC5186502), captivates the audience with his expression that combines emotion and intelligence.And Albrecht's clear-cut tact and superb control of the orchestra! ＜Marc Albrecht, conductor, is highly regarded for his interpretation of Wagner and R. Strauss as well as his commitment to contemporary music. He is also a regular guest conductor with many of Europe's most prestigious opera houses and orchestras. Early in his career, he spent several seasons at the opera houses of Hamburg and Dresden, and was named assistant to Claudio Abbado at the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester in Vienna. 1995 he was appointed Music Director of the Darmstadt Opera, a post he held for six years, and from 2006 to 2011 he was Music Director of the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2006 to 2011, he served as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
