Finally, a recording of "From the New World"! Andrés Orozco-Estrada, born in Medellín, Colombia in 1977, has been actively releasing works on the PENTATONE label. The third Dvořák recording, made at his home base, Jones Hall, with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, of which he is currently the music director, is already available. The third Dvořák release, recorded at Jones Hall with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, where he currently serves as music director, is now available. Orozco-Estrada has studied conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 1997, and gained attention in 2004 when he conducted the Wiener Tonkünstlerorchester at a short notice at the Musikverein in Vienna.He has been the Principal Conductor of the Houston Symphony Orchestra since 2014, and is currently the Music Director of the Houston Symphony Orchestra. In the 2015/16 season, he will assume the position of Principal Guest Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, a position that has attracted the attention of the international music community. Orozco-Estrada, who wows audiences with his lively performances, also gives a passionate and clear performance of Dvořák with the Houston Symphony Orchestra.
