The OVERTONES, a British five-piece band, released their debut album "Good Ol' Fashioned Love" in 2010 and became the talk of the town in the U.K. They used to work as store interior decorators and decorators on London's giant shopping street, Oxford Street, and were literally "scouted" by Warner's new talent search department when they were singing between tea breaks. Their sound, a classic arrangement of 50's doo-wop, R&B, blue-eyed soul, and pop songs, is vintage and big-time, yet somehow fashionable. Their vocal work has been described as "harmonies as beautifully matched as fish and chips" on a British wide-screen TV show, and their "choreography," a promise of a doo-wop group, is also superbly executed. Since their debut album, they have toured the UK, appeared on TV, and performed at Christmas tree lighting events, and their new album is already available.This album features covers of classic songs from the past, including "Groovin'" by The Rascals, "Keep Me Hangin' On" by Vanilla Fudge and The Supremes, "Perfect" by Fairground Attraction, "You Lost That Loving Feeling" by The Righteous Brothers, and "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole, a duet of the two. The album also includes new songs written by the band themselves, but the great thing about these songs is that they are not overshadowed by these masterpieces. The vintage yet cool, 21st century style vocal harmonies of the Teddy Boys will soon make London swing again.
