Description:
German-born soprano Deanna Damrau has quickly risen to become a coloratura superstar. She was recently named Female Singer of the Year by Opera Awards. She was also the first non-Italian singer to be cast in the opening role at La Scala in Milan last season (2013/14) in a new production of Verdi's La Traviata, conducted by Daniele Gatti and produced by Dmitri Cherniakov, which was broadcast and performed in theaters in Europe and the United States. The production was broadcast and performed in theaters in Europe and the U.S., which was also a new event for the company. Damrau's wide-ranging repertoire, with her engaging interpretations and voice, is also on full display in the recent release of "Forever" (WPCS-12626).This recording reaffirms Damrau's presence as one of the leading coloratura sopranos of our time, with stars such as Ludovic Tézier (baritone) and Joseph Kaléya (tenor), who played the leading roles in Donizetti's famous opera "Lucia di Lammermoor" and is at the forefront of bel canto opera productions around the world. Damrau's presence as one of the leading coloratura sopranos of our time is reaffirmed in this performance. The booklet contains only a brief description of the songs and does not include lyrics or a bilingual translation. Warner Music Japan
