The ancient music ensemble "Hoor Barock" has been active in a small municipality in southern Sweden and is considered "the pride of Skåne". Albums such as "Baroque Concerto with Recorder" (Proprius PRCD 2091) have been described as "well-conceived, stylistically confident, and radiant" ("Gramophone"), "never contrived or unnatural, just enjoying playing naturally" ("OPUS"). In 2020, "Music for Count Golovin's Feast" (BIS SA-2355), conducted by Dan Laughlin, won the "Swedish Grammy Award" for best classical album. Following "Meeting with Bach" (PRCD 2098), Proprius Records presents "Vivaldi in the North. This is an album of Antonio Vivaldi's diverse sinfonias and concertos with a "Mediterranean" temperament, performed with a "Nordic" sensibility. As a composer with ties to Northern Europe, Vivaldi has been performed in Nordic countries from the Baroque period to the present day. Hall Baroque has made him one of its most important repertoire, including the "Violin Concerto in G major" and the "Sinfonia for Strings in B minor," the only surviving manuscripts of which are in the Lund University library. The "Flute Concerto" "Mughal the Great" included in this program, whose score was discovered in the 21st century, has been performed by Flauto Traverso.This is the first recording with recorders. Recorder player Emelie Roos, baroque violinist Hannah Tibell, and lutenist Dohyo Sol are the soloists. Thore Brinkmann (Baroque Concerto with Recorder) produced and engineered the piece.
