Emmalissa Hallander Emmalissa Hallander is considered the most recent "star" of jazz vocals that Sweden has produced. She has given concerts at the Stockholm club "Fasching Fasching", toured with trumpeter Peter Asplund, performed with the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, and received scholarships from "Fasching Vennel" and the Royal Academy of Music (KMA), among others. His debut album, "Have a Look Inside" (VarvaRecords), released in 2023, was praised by listeners and the media alike. Her new album, "Out of Reach," like the first, is programmed around her original compositions, sung in the style and mood of the "good old" vocal jazz of the mid-20th century.The band performing with him is Philip Ekestubbe on piano from Amanda Ginsbourg's Tur att jag kan skratta (Ladybird 79556881), Isabella Lundgren's Out of the Bell Jar ( Ladybird 79556854), Niklas Fernqvist on bass, and Henrik Jaderberg on drums from Anton Dromberg's Stars (Prophone PCD 366). The band is made up of top-class members. Daniel Migdal and his string quartet play on the romantic tracks, and several of the songs feature guest appearances by Peter Asplund on trumpet and Per Texas Johansson on saxophone.
