Benjamin Hochman's journey through six centuries of piano works! Benjamin Hochman, a musician whose career has expanded from soloist to chamber musician to conductor, presents his fourth album on the Avie label, a collection of piano works spanning six centuries under the theme of "resonance. Born in Jerusalem in 1980, Hockman emerged from a young age, being invited to the Marlboro Festival by Mitsuko Uchida, and made his debut as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, conducted by Pinkas Zukerman, at the age of 24. He has since performed with the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, and Prague Philharmonic Orchestras. After receiving an Avery Fischer Career Grant, she has also performed at the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan.The album features two Beethoven piano sonatas and a wide range of works from the Renaissance period, from Josquin des Prez and John Dowland to the works of George Benjamin during his lifetime, all of them with insightful program structure and high quality performances.
