Apollo's Fire is a period orchestra from Cleveland, USA, founded by Janet Sorrell, who studied under Gustav Leonhardt in Amsterdam and Roger Norrington and Leonard Bernstein in the US. The orchestra is now celebrating its 30th anniversary. The second album to commemorate the 30th anniversary is a collection of religious and secular pieces on the theme of Jerusalem, the holy city of the three religions of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. The album offers a musical perspective on the lives of the people who have lived in Jerusalem since biblical times. The music takes you around the Christian, Jewish, Arab, and Armenian communities as if you were traveling through the Old City.Enjoy this colorful and vibrant program recorded live with artists from a variety of backgrounds on this album!
