Apollo's Fire is a Cleveland, Ohio-based period orchestra founded by Janet Sorrell, who studied with Gustav Leonhardt in Amsterdam and Roger Norrington and Leonard Bernstein in the US. In this new recording by this remarkable orchestra, the promising American tenor Karim Suleiman makes his solo debut! Karim Suleiman has studied violin since the age of three and has performed as a boy alto soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Solti and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra conducted by Slatkin. With his vivid descriptions and beautiful voice, his repertoire ranges from Renaissance to contemporary music, and he has established himself as an outstanding artist of the younger generation. In his solo recording debut, Suleiman will sing music from Monteverdi's masterpiece "Orfeo" and other works by various composers related to the Greek mythological bard Orpheus. Tokyo M-Plus
