The third release from American charismatic artist Burton Pine! A Paganini album brimming with musicality! American violinist Rachel Burton Pine, who made a comeback after suffering serious injuries in a 1995 train accident, has been pursuing a dynamic, genre-defying career that spans from Baroque to heavy metal. Burton Pine, who won the Special Prize (Renato De Barbieri Memorial Prize) at the 1993 Paganini International Violin Competition, presents her third release on Avie (AVIE) is a brilliant Paganini album titled “Bel Canto Paganini.” True to its name, the album focuses not only on Paganini’s virtuosic techniques but also on “bel canto” (beautiful singing), pairing the 24 Caprices with short pieces for solo violin. The final track features an original composition based on the theme of the New Zealand national anthem, which she wrote inspired by Paganini. The instrument used is a 1742 Guarneri del Jus “ex-Bazzini, ex-Soldat,” from the same era as the one used by Paganini himself. Tokyo M-Plus
