Avie's second solo album features two cello sonatas, a violin sonata, Hungarian Dances, F.A.E Sonata, Piano Concerto No. 2, and songs. The "Complete Works for Cello and Piano" includes two cello sonatas, a violin sonata, a collection of Hungarian dances, and transcriptions of the F.A.E. sonata, Concerto No. 2, and a song. This ambitious program is recommended not only for cello fans but also for arrangement fans, as Austgaard has shown his talent not only as an excellent soloist but also as an arranger, as in the brilliant arrangement of his previous work "From Jewish Lives". The key arrangement is the Piano Concerto No. 2, the last piece on the program.Since the original piano concerto also has a theme played by an original cello instead of the piano, this arrangement of the third movement utilizes that melody in its entirety for the cello and piano version. It is a wonderful melody that makes the most of the charm of the cello, so it is no wonder that the melody is only used as part of the piano concerto. The arrangement is by Colt Garben, whose titles include DG recording producer, arranger, pianist, and president of the International Brahms Society of Hamburg, and was published in 2011, making this the first recording in the world. The "Hungarian Dances" is an arrangement by the composer himself of the Violin Sonata No. 1 "Song of Rain," which is also a standard repertoire for cellists. The Hungarian Dances were arranged by the Italian cellist Alfredo Piatti.The F.A.E Sonata is a violin sonata co-composed by Dietrich, Schumann, and Brahms, and the third movement, for which Brahms was responsible, was arranged into a cello version by violist Watson Forbes. A collection of arrangements from songs, the arranger of which is unknown, also offers a sweet melody. The piano by the British virtuoso Martin Roscoe is also very reliable. Tokyo M-Plus
