The granite is the bond between Xu Shima, an important Chinese poet, and Cambridge, England, and various travelers have come to see it. 1928, the poet Xu Shima also visited the area where he had previously studied and wrote the poem Farewell to Cambridge ("Farewell, Cambridge"). The text of the first song, "Farewell to Cambridge," is the same text that almost every child in China learns in school, and it is also the same text that is taught in the populace. It is so famous that it has become popular music. Jasmine Flower Song is a Chinese folk song from the 18th century, sung by a prestigious choir with a frighteningly precise Chinese pronunciation.Only the Jasmine Flower Song and the piece on a poem by Xu Shima were recorded in 2017; the rest are excerpts from older recordings, a collection of songs suitable to represent the nearly 100-year bond between the choir and China.
