It's been four years since their last album, which was a shocking debut. DIIV (Dive), led by Zachary Cole Smith, a treasured son of Captured Tracks, a twin of Mac DeMarco, has finally completed its second album! This album, "Is the Is Are," was developed during the tour that followed the release of the previous album, and was formed in a rented warehouse in Los Angeles for two months and recorded in Brooklyn in March of 2015. By that time, Smith had produced 300 songs, of which 17 have been carefully selected for this album. The single "Dopamine," which is already available for downloading, features DIIV's signature driving, light guitar and fresh vocals. The band's unique shimmering presence is now complemented by more shoegaze-like noisy guitars and psychedelic floating sensations, and Smith says, "We can't die until we finish this album. .... The fifth track, "Blue Boredom," features Sky Ferreira.
