Cosi fan tutte" The last of Mozart's da Ponte trilogy, "Cosi fan tutte," was performed by Nikolaus Arnoncourt at the Theater an der Wien in March 2014. This performance was the subject of much controversy because, in the wake of the director's resignation from the new production of "Cosi fan Tutte" at the Theater an der Wien, Arnoncourt decided to perform the entire da Ponte trilogy in a semi-opera format within a single month. The semi-opera format allows the audience to concentrate on the music and enjoy the beautiful ensemble of double, triple, quartet, and sextet chorus that performs throughout the entire work. The performance is colorful and wonderful with various forms of duet singing by talented singers such as Mari Eriksmen, who sings the difficult role of Fiordiligi, and Elisabet Kuhlmann, who makes her presence felt with her overwhelming ability and beauty. Arnoncourt had the following to say about the performance of the Da Ponte Trilogy.As Arnoncourt said, "We should strictly follow Mozart's instructions without any interpretation in the staging. This product includes the documentary "Between Persistence and Perfection - Part 3: Cosi fan tutte", which is a documentary of the process of Arnoncourt's staging of this performance, and allows the audience to fully appreciate Arnoncourt's music making.
