Speed release of "Madama Butterfly" on the Lake, just performed at the Bregenz Festival in July 2022! Opera on the Lake "Bregenz Music Festival". Bregenz is located on the western edge of Austria, near the border between Germany and Switzerland. The festival, which was started in 1946 and funded by wealthy citizens, sets up a stage on Lake Constance for a four-week performance of spectacular operas that combine traditional performing arts with cutting-edge technology. The orchestra and chorus perform not on stage but in an adjacent hall, where they are mixed with the soloists on stage using the latest sound technology and delivered to the audience through speakers installed in the auditorium. What is being released this time is a whopping! The performance just presented this July is Puccini's "Madama Butterfly," directed by Andreas Homoki, Artistic Director of the Zurich Opera. Delicate landscape paintings are projected on the stage, which was designed by Katada stage artist Michael Levin to resemble Japanese washi paper, giving Lake Constance a magical Japanese feel. The role of Madame Butterfly features Barno Ismatullaeva, a remarkable singer from Uzbekistan. She beautifully sings the moving aria "On a fine day". King International
