Latest Video! Nelsons & the Vienna Philharmonic "Salzburg Festival 2018 Opening Performance" This video shows the concert that opened the 2018 Salzburg Festival. The concert opened with Zimmermann's trumpet concerto "Nobody Knows My Troubles," featuring five saxophonists and electronic instruments, using choral, twelve-tone, and jazz forms, and taking its meaningful title from a famous black spiritual. The soloist is trumpet legend Håkan Hardenberger, who appeared with the New Japan Philharmonic when they performed the work a few years ago. The piece is of considerable difficulty, but he performed it with impressive technique. The main program is Mahler No. 2 "Resurrection. Nelsons has been concentrating on this work in the same year, and has created music with eloquence and precision. The rich and beautiful sound of the Vienna Philharmonic's strings and winds as a whole can be fully appreciated. In the finale, the orchestra, soloists, and chorus are unified in every detail, playing powerfully and strongly, leading to a moving climax. King International
