Description:
Master Telmikanov shakes up Parma! Alvarez's beautiful voice Manrico is irresistible in the powerful "Trovatore", a joint Italian-American-Russian production! The Trovatore" performed at the Verdi Festival in Parma in 2010 is now available on video. It is a pleasure to hear the manrico of Marcelo Alvarez, the most beautiful Verdi tenor of the moment. Alvarez, 48 years old at the time, has a beautiful voice and a great dignity, and he also has the direct passion of an Argentinean. Leonora's Teresa Romano is a young Italian soprano. It is surprising that she was only 25 years old at the time. She is a gem, a future great prima donna for sure. Claudio Sgura, the Count of Luna, is a mid-career baritone, born in Brindisi in 1974, who is being hailed as one of the new generation of Verdi baritones. In 2010, she came to Japan with Domingo and sang three roles including Iago and Escamillo with Domingo to great acclaim. Azuchena Muzia Nioraje is a mezzo-soprano from Georgia. She is one of the singers who emerged at the Mariinsky Theatre and has appeared many times at the Metropolitan Opera, singing Azuchena in 2009 and 2012. Ferland's Deyan Vachukov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1979, and is a bass. He has been active mainly in Italy for the last 10 years. His fine sound with a low center of gravity is a true inheritance of the Bulgarian bass tradition, and he is not dull, so he handles the troublesome fioritura of Ferrando's aria at the beginning of the first act with ease. What a conductor, the Russian master Yuri Temirkanov! He was born in 1938, so he was 72 years old at the time of this performance, and his conducting was full of dignity and spirit.Temirkanov is known as the longtime music director of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, but in fact he has a wealth of operatic experience, having served as Gergiev's predecessor at the Kirov Theater (now Mariinsky Theater) for more than 10 years as music director. The opera "Trovatore" has a rich romanticism that is slightly different from the purely Italian style. Lorenzo Mariani's production is very fantastic, with a huge moon in the background of a simple black and white stage. This is reflected in the clear image of the HD recording. Japanese subtitles are included. King International
