This is an album of sweet lovers, created by LA-based singer-songwriter CLAUDE FONTAINE, who heard reggae music for the first time when she visited HONEST JONS, a long-established record store in London. The album was recorded at a vintage studio in Hollywood where CHET BAKER had recorded, with a great lineup including TONY CHIN, a guitarist who had worked with KING TUBBY, and RONNIE MCQUEEN, bassist of STEEL PULSE. Her mellow voice is reminiscent of JANE BIRKIN's, and she sings with a sweet voice! The backing track, which is a fusion of vintage reggae and sophisticated Brazilian music, is also excellent. This is a great recommendation for DJs and selectors alike, whether in the open air or in the room, to be enveloped in a comfortable uplifting feeling! The "sound of the season" for 2019 is here.
