Swiss legendary industrial black/gothic metal band SAMAEL has released new material for the first time in approximately nine years since their 2017 album *Hegemony*. The release features two tracks, “BlackMatterManifesto” and “HiddenEmpire,” marking their comeback after a long hiatus. Sonically, the band once again showcases their unique style, which fuses industrial rhythms and symphonic expansiveness with the dark essence of black metal cultivated since their early days. "BlackMatterManifesto" features heavy, aggressive guitar riffs and mechanical beats, resulting in a straightforward extreme metal track that emphasizes a raw and rugged texture. On the other hand, “Hidden Empire” features a more dramatic structure, with dark, solemn melodies intertwining with heavy riffs to strongly convey SAMAEL’s signature apocalyptic atmosphere. Formed in 1987, the band established a sound that fuses black metal with industrial and symphonic elements through albums like “Worship Him” and “Passage,” and their distinctive worldview remains intact on this release. Although it is a short release consisting of only two tracks, it combines a dark, heavy soundscape with memorable melodies, reaffirming the band’s presence as a group that has continually pushed the boundaries of the genre.
