This 2026 release marks the second album from the Dutch symphonic fantasy metal project EYEOFMELIAN, their first since signing with Napalm Records. Named after Melian, the song-spirits from Tolkien’s mythology, the band is led by Martin Westerholt of DELain and features Johanna Kurkela (vocals) of AURI, orchestral arranger Mikko P. Mustonen, and lyricist Robin La Joy. This album features a fantastical soundscape that pushes the appeal of symphonic music to its absolute limit, blending cinematic scale with poetic lyricism. It opens with “Of Willows and Shadows,” guided by soft piano and majestic strings, and unfolds a dreamlike, cinematic soundscape in “Child of Twilight” and “Blackthorn Winter.” "Dawn Of Avatars" features contributions from NIGHTWISH’s Troy Donacley and Patty Gardy, adding a Celtic flair. Additionally, the album includes an elegant cover of IRON MAIDEN’s classic "Tears Of The Dragon." Instrumental versions of all tracks are also included, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in a fantasy world. Contrary to its title, this is a majestic symphonic masterpiece that charts an unforgettable musical journey.
