The album features the film's original music composed by Academy Award(R) winner Steven Price ("Zero Gravity," "Last Night in Soho," "Baby Driver"). The Running Man, co-written and directed by Wright, tells the story of a working-class father desperate to save his sick daughter from a deadly TV game show in which he must survive for 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins. His instincts, defiance, and grit turn him into an unexpected favorite and a threat to the entire system. We're enthusiastic fans of both Edgar and Steven, and it's great to see them back creating great times in the film world." Stephen Price's score for The Running Man is a dazzling mix of propulsive beats, buzzing synths, and traditional orchestral elements, full of ingenuity and style. The central theme has an elegant, timeless quality, with rich, serene strings providing a hypnotic melody. In contrast, the tracks accompanying the game show segments have a very fun, over-the-top, retro feel that contrasts with the more sinister, dystopian pieces scattered throughout the film. The music placed throughout the film feels like another character driving the narrative. Listened to on its own, it's engaging, dynamic, and truly enjoyable, and it captures the film's diverse tones and moods beautifully." Featuring artwork by Luke Preece, the vinyl edition is pressed on two 140-gram color vinyl discs and housed on a custom O-Card.It also includes a replica zine from the film, "The Truth," which includes exclusive liner notes by director Edgar Wright and composer Stephen Price.
