The Arena di Verona is one of the world's largest open-air opera festivals, held every summer in Verona's Roman amphitheater turned into a theater. The festival has been held since 1913 and has a history of more than 100 years. It attracts opera fans from all over the world. This video is Puccini's masterpiece "Turandot" by Franco Zeffirelli (1923-2019), one of the greatest directors of the 20th and 21st centuries. Zeffirelli became famous as the director of the film "Romeo and Juliet" and has directed many operas as well as films with his classical yet glamorous aesthetic, but "Turandot" in particular is known as a legendary production with its magnificent golden stage and gorgeous ancient Chinese-style costumes. The Arena di Verona Music Festival presented it again in 2010, and this production is also exceptional for the spectacle that takes place in this magnificent ruin, a huge space dressed up in a sumptuous manner. And Anna Netrebko plays the "Ice Princess" who puts a riddle on her suitor and kills him if he doesn't solve it. She enchants this grand theater with her outstanding acting ability and extraordinary spirit. And Yusif Eivazov as Karaf. He will be the star of the famous aria "No one shall sleep" with his rich and dramatic voice. Timur is played by veteran bass singer Ferruccio Furlanetto. The role of Liù is played by Maria Teresa Leva, born in 1987 in Reggio Calabria.
