Description:
The Colour Field was formed in the summer of 1983 by Terry Hall, former vocalist of The Specials and Fun Boy Three; Toby Lyons, former organist of The Swinging Cats; and bassist Carl Sheil. During their three-year run, the band released just two albums (1985’s *Virgins and Philistines* and 1987’s *Deception*) and seven singles. Their catalog spans a wide range of genres, from the band’s self-titled track “The Colour Field” (January 1984) to their 1987 cover of The Monkees’ “She” and the UK hit single “Thinking of You.” This 96-track box set features 42 previously unreleased tracks, along with the two albums, their B-sides, and remixes, all newly remastered from the original master tapes. The 2-CD set is packed with unreleased demos, outtakes, and live concert recordings. Additionally, it includes a DVD featuring their music videos and BBC television performances.
