The 1977 film "Lights Out" is being reissued in a 2024 Remastered and Expanded Edition! Released in May 1977, the album was the biggest-selling album in the group's history, reaching #23 in the United States. Michael Schenker's status as the most exciting guitarist in heavy rock is established, Paul Raymond replaces Danny Peyronelle, and Ron Nevison, who worked with Led Zeppelin, replaces Leo Lyons, who produced the band's last three albums. Nevison took over. The title track, "Lights Out," is an urgent portrait of dystopian London, inspired by the same thing that inspired Joe Strummer to write "White Riot" for The Clash, namely the Notting Hill riots of August 1976. The record closes with "Love to Love," which Iron Maiden's Steve Harris has said is his favorite song of all time Disc-1 includes three bonus tracks.Disc-2 contains a live recording of the first day of the "Lights Out" tour at the Roundhouse in London in April 1977. The original album was remastered by Andy Pearce. The booklet includes liner notes by Michael Hann and interviews with the band members.
