A collection of Wolfgang Rihm's works by Ervin Arditti and others. The clear performances and recordings give a certain stylistic beauty. It is no wonder that this recording was written out of love and respect for Schumann. Wolfgang Rihm studied composition with Eugen Werner Fuerte at the Karlsruhe College of Music before graduating from high school. After graduation, he studied composition at the Freiburg University of Music with Klaus Huber. In addition to these composers, he also studied with Helmut Rachlmann, Morton Feldman, Luigi NONO, and many others. He is a prolific composer, with more than 400 published works alone. Irving Arditti was born in England in 1953 and is well known as the leader of the Arditti Quartet.He studied at the Royal Academy of Music under Clarence Myerscough and Manoug Parikian. He was concert master of the London Symphony Orchestra, but left the orchestra to devote himself to the Arditti String Quartet, which he formed as a student. He performs widely throughout the world with a repertoire of mainly contemporary music and has released over 200 CDs. Roberta Pandolfi, piano, is internationally active as a soloist and chamber musician in contemporary music; since 2018, she has been the music director of the Orchestra Olympia, an all-female orchestra. Gianluca Pirisi, cello, began playing the cello at the age of 12. She has participated in many famous music festivals in Italy, as well as in Amsterdam, Paris, Kusatsu, Munich, Warsaw, and others. In an unexpected career, he has also been involved in playing ancient music in Fabio Biondi's "Europa Galante". (Tobu Shoji)
