This album combines the well-known Brahms with works by Stiljanu, who is still active today. Stiljanu's work is from 2021 and is his second work for woodwinds and piano. The style is more Romantic than contemporary, and the combination with Brahms is not at all incongruous. The album is a well-composed album with fine pieces of old and new music. Gabor Varga was born in Hungary in 1974. He studied at Szeged University, Liszt Academy of Music, and Conservatoire de Paris. He has been a principal conductor of the Ger Philharmonic Orchestra (Hungary), the Hungarian National Symphony Orchestra, and the Liszt Chamber Orchestra. He currently teaches at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Jacobs School of Music in the United States. Nicholas Costantinou, piano, studied at the Greek Conservatory of Music and the Liszt School of Music. He also holds a doctorate from the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is active primarily in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East. Tobu Shoji Co.
