Their stunning soundscape, which reigns at the forefront of prog metal, will once again be heard around the world...! It's been quite a while since we've released a new album. We are very proud of the songs and the accompanying video work. Tosin Abasi has integrated various styles of sound (progressive, metal, gents, jazz, post-rock...) with incredible playability, while maintaining an impressive number of notes and consistency in all of them. The Animals as Leaders are a superbly technical instrumental act that pushes the limits of mankind.The bass-less trio consists of Tosin Abbasi (g), a new guitar hero of the new generation, Javier Reis (g), who fills the space with his understated yet superb technique, and Matt Gerstka (dr), who creates a complex flow with an astonishing number of moves and exquisite sense of time. The sound produced by the trio organization has a genre-defying world view that shows endless expansiveness backed up by a high level of technique that far surpasses expectations. They have visited Japan twice, in 2012 and 2017 (guitarist Tosin Abasi has also visited Japan twice as Generation Axe), and have overwhelmed Japanese audiences with their amazing guitar playing and chaotic performance filled with consistency. They are the first band to perform in Japan.In 2018, they released a live album "ANIMALS AS LEADERS LIVE 2017", which contains a lot of their superb performance, and they have completed their latest studio album "PARRHESIA", which is the first studio album in about 6 years since "THE MADNESS OF MANY" in 2016, and is truly worthy of the word "long-awaited"! The latest album "PARRHESIA" is the first studio album since "THE MADNESS OF MANY" in 2016. In August of this year, they released a new song "Monomyth," which is a gento-centric song bursting with irregular rhythms and superb technique, and also released a video work featuring a performance by the women of the art group NOHBORDS, and their mysterious yet edgy sound and images have excited their fans. The song, which is bursting with innovative drumming that creates a flowing rhythm while constantly changing rhythms, and superb guitar work that flows across the fretboard, further fuels the anticipation for the album. The song also fuels the anticipation for the album.A music video for the song has also been released, also performed by NOHBORDS, which beautifully captures the fantastic world spun by Animals as Leaders as a video.
