Led by drummer Ivo Di Traglia (drums), who handles composition and arrangements, the up-and-coming Italian progressive rock band TRITOP—which made a sensational debut with the masterpiece *Rise of Kassandra*, a reinterpretation of vintage prog through the lens of modern symphonic and progressive metal—is set to release their highly anticipated second album in 2025! True to their stated influences—THE FLOWER KINGS and DREAM THEATER—their previous album boasted a level of polish on par with MOONSAFARI and BAROCK PROJECT. It crafted a deeply moving narrative through the contrast between complex, multi-layered song structures, catchy vocal melodies, and powerful solos and ensembles driven by drumming rich in embellishments. This new album continues the epic-scale approach of its predecessor, toning down the vintage feel while ramping up the volume and scale even further. Much like the calm before the storm, the opening track "Rebuild Nothing" draws listeners in with the sound of rain and acoustic guitar arpeggios, while the prog-metal masterpiece "Master of Drama"—featuring Haken-esque diverse rhythm changes and a sense of musical fusion, along with Mattia Fagiolo’s (vocals) emotional vocals—expresses the band’s new artistic territory. Following "Wanderlust"—a track with a positive vibe vividly colored by diverse keyboard work featuring vintage synths, Hammond organ, Mellotron, and piano over a bouncy, triple-time rhythm—we finally arrive at the closing track, "Asymmetrical Reflections of a Restless Heart," which runs over 20 minutes. This song serves as the culmination of the band’s work to date, into Italian rock—the classical atmosphere symbolized by the opening church organ and the passionate, thrilling performance are simply intense!
