Oscar Hernandez, founder of the Spanish Harlem Orchestra and renowned arranger/pianist who has supported many Latin singers including Rubén Brades, has recorded a new album with a group of up-and-coming musicians based in Los Angeles. As in the previous album, the group is led by the renowned saxophonist Fusto Almario, who has been active in the US music scene for many years, from Mongo Santamaria and Tito Puente to John Lucian and Freddie Hubbard, and supported by drummer Jimmy Brumley, who also played in NG La Banda. The thrilling, yet extremely smooth ensemble with his well-known colleagues is the highest achievement of Oscar, who knows both the sweet and sour sides of salsa and Latin jazz.
