Edmund Rabl (1901–1986) was a composer who, even during the era of avant-garde experimentation, upheld traditional harmonic techniques while building a unique religious world of his own. For Rabl, faith was not merely a subject but the very principle governing his musical thought. The highlight of this album is the world premiere recording of the chamber cantata *Crucifixus pro Nobis*.
