This is the world premiere recording of the Requiem by Kerensa Briggs (1991-), a composer specializing in choral music who studied at King's College London. Performed by the prestigious King's College London Choir, led by Joseph Fort, a renowned scholar of 18th century music and dance. She was surrounded by music near Gloucester Cathedral, sang in choirs, heard daily services, and had a childhood that could not have been richer for a religious choral composer. Her deep understanding of the voice is rooted in these real-life experiences. Briggs' works have been performed at St. Paul's Cathedral and the Sistine Chapel, and her music is regularly broadcast on the radio by such distinguished ensembles as the Tallis Scholars and the BBC Singers.
