Debut of the Foyle-Stoszura Duo! A collection of violin works from the Polish Music School! The Foyle-Szczuszla Duo is a group of two leading composers of the post-war Polish musical world, Witold Lutoslawski (1913-1994) and Krzysztof Penderecki (1933-), who have been performing their works for violin and piano. The Foyle-Stosura duo consists of Michael Foyle from Scotland and Maksim Stosura from Estonia, winners of the 'Salieri-Zinetti' International Chamber Music Competition 2015 and the Beethoven Piano Society European Duet Competition, the promising Duo. They have taken master classes with Stephen Kovacevich and Makism Vengerov, and as of 2018 are also ambassadors for the City Music Foundation. This season, Michael Foyle, who has also served as guest concertmaster of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Halle Orchestra, will bring his well-honed expressiveness to this sharply focused portrait of oppression and freedom in postwar Poland.
