Founded in 2007 at Oxford University by Rory McCreery, a young countertenor who began his career as a boy choir member at Edinburgh St. Mary's Cathedral, the Marian Consort, named after the Virgin Mary, is a young vocal ensemble that has emerged like a comet in the British vocal and ancient music world.
