The works of Albéniz and Granados are originally piano pieces, Debussy's Cello Sonata is a work for cello and piano, and Falla's "Love is a Magician" is ballet music for orchestra, but this album presents them in an unexpected combination as a duo for cello and guitar. The arrangements are so brilliant that it is almost as if each piece had been written from the very beginning with this arrangement. Debussy's cello sonatas have a strong Iberian flavor, so the guitar-accompanied versions are extremely Spanish and effective. Falla's ballet music "Love is a Magician" is a masterful arrangement and performance, with sparks flying between the cello and guitar, and is as good as the original version. This is a piece that is well worth listening to. *Included in a simple paper case, Tobu Shoji Co.
