Biagio Marini (1594–1663) is regarded as an important violinist and composer of the early 17th century for his significant contributions to violin technique. The period instrument ensemble “I Musicari Affetti” and the vocal ensemble “ Rosso Porpora,” will perform Marini’s *Collection of Madrigals and Sinfonie, Op. 2*, in which instrumental sinfonias alternate with madrigals sung by one to five voices. The bonus DVD includes commentary from the performers and footage of the performance. Please note that the bonus DVD is in the PAL format and can only be viewed on PAL-compatible playback devices.
