Woo Lou, an up-and-coming artist who is carving out a new alternative scene with his one-of-a-kind style, is now available on WARP! A shocking debut album of explosive energy! Wu Lou is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer based in South London. His singles to date, including one featuring Black Midi drummer Morgan Simpson, have all received critical acclaim and have been praised by major media outlets such as Fader, Mojo, Crack, and Quietus. He has been in close contact with the booming UK band scene, and his unique style is creating a new trend of alternative rock in the UK, and his latest album is released on "WARP". His debut album, consisting of 12 tracks (with one additional track added to the domestic release), is packed with an explosive energy that draws on elements of post-punk, screamo, hip-hop, and many other genres. The songs are filled with distorted, yet flexible guitars, soaring bass, drill-music-influenced triplet drums, and piano melodies. The production was done in London pubs and Norwegian recording studios with the backing band members, deconstructing, piecing together, and replaying sampled material based on jam sessions. They claim that we can find a way to get over it by "standing up to our fears and speaking out loud" and by "making people care about each other." Asha" depicts a 3 a.m. gathering for a skateboarding session, with a night bus melody played over a loud electric guitar that floats in the background like a bending power line, and then a low, roaring sound energy spiraling and swirling to launch the entire song into the stratosphere.
