Description:
Nicola Alesini, a saxophonist who has worked with Hans-Joachim Roedelius, and Saro Cosentino, an Italian songwriter/composer who has provided music for Alice/Franco Battiato and other Italian and British artists and produced soundtracks for theater, film, and TV. The second collaboration, "MORE CITIES", is the follow-up to "CITIES" (2009), and was recorded in 2012 by Nicola Alesini, a saxophonist, and Saro Cosentino, a songwriter/composer from Italy who is active in a variety of fields, including writing songs for Alice/Franco Battiato and other Italian and British artists and producing soundtracks for theater, film, and TV. As the titles of the songs suggest, this work expresses images of cities around the world, including the Gaza Strip, Jaipur in India, and Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, through its sound. The album is a contemporary/ambient jazz piece with an impressive saxophone that presents a concrete and somewhat melancholic melody that blends into a pale, sprawling electro soundscape that swallows everything from ambient to trip-hop.
