World premiere recording of the original solo version All of the music on this CD, with the exception of the piano concerto, was published through the efforts of his boyhood teacher, Naifeh. Naefe taught Beethoven piano, organ, and composition, and highly regarded him as "Beethoven's second Mozart. The two Rondo pieces are both impressive little pieces of bright freshness. The three Electoral Sonatas are so called because they were dedicated to Maximilian Friedrich, Elector of Cologne.Beethoven, who was taught by Neffe using the great Bach and Emanuel Bach as teaching materials, was influenced by the Mannheim school of music in a positive sense. The Gallant sense of style, the key of F minor, which Haydn and Mozart did not use in their sonatas, and the orchestral-like piano writing show Beethoven's character as early as this work. Fortunately, the piano part of the Piano Concerto has been written in the score when the piano is not playing. In this recording, Sheholli plays all of these parts, giving us a complete overview of the piece. This is the world premiere recording of the solo piano version. (Tobu Shoji)
