Description:

The Munich Philharmonic's own label presents an authorized recording of Celibidacke conducting the "Ravel" works from his legendary concert! The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and Serge Celibidacke are pleased to announce the release of a wonderful legacy on the Munich Philharmonic label. He became Chief Conductor in June 1979 and held this position for 17 years. He was an integral part of building the orchestra that has made the Munich Philharmonic the world-famous orchestra it is today. Today, the Munich Philharmonic is an internationally acclaimed orchestra. Celibidacke is known for his exquisite tone in Ravel's musical harmonies. Ravel's works are in dialogue with the differentiated solos, with complex combinations of extended woodwind ensembles, rich percussion, and other instruments that bring out clear contrasts. These Celibidacke creates a mighty persuasive force through his unique tempi and meaningful expression. This is a full sound world that has nothing to do with looks or effects. A musical world unique to Celibidacke is developed here. No other music reveals Ravel's dense emotion, fantasy and sensuality in music like this. For this release, the original analog master tapes in the collection of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra have been newly mastered. The recording was remastered at 96 kHz/24-bit from the original master tapes by Christian Starke, an engineer who has recorded and remastered for various labels, and the final mastering was done by Christoph Stickel, an engineer who has recently mastered under the supervision of ECM and has worked on many of Keith Jarrett's albums. The final mastering was done by Christoph Stickel, an engineer who has worked on many of Keith Jarrett's albums, and brings back the tension of the live performance. Warner Music Japan
