Description:
Once one of the "Three Crows of Vienna," Gulda was noted for his Viennese musical tradition and flexible sensibility. Mozart was the composer he most admired as a Viennese child. This Mozart performance is a mixture of songfulness and pathos created by the dialogue between Gurda's pianism and the orchestra, which is unique to Gurda's playing. The clear and sharp touch, the precise tempo and rhythm. Gluda's playing never becomes mechanical or tasteless, but rather an emotional flow of grainy notes. It shows the depth of Mozart's music. The most famous recordings of Goulda's Mozart concertos include "No. 20" by Abbado and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (1974), and "No. 26" by Arnold Schumann and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (1974). The "No. 26" was performed by Arnoncourt & Concertgebouw (1983). In this performance, the piano was filled with spirit as if to amplify the characteristics of the tone that changes with intensity, and this is a rare live recording of the master musician who was 56 years old at the time and had reached the age of maturity. The original analog master tapes owned by the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra have been newly mastered for this release.The live tension of the performance has been newly mastered at 96kHz/24bit from the original master tapes by Christoph Stickel, an engineer who has been involved with Keith Jarrett's various works.
