Description:

GLYDERS, a US rock band that has been delivering the essence of 70s roots rock with a Chicago underground sensibility. Centered around guitarist/vocalist JOSHUA CONDON and bassist ELIZA WEBER, they've been active since around 2014. Their 2023 debut album 'MARIA'S HUNT' earned acclaim for its lo-fi psychedelic country sound, a style uniquely suited to their small lineup. This album marks their first full-length as a trio, recorded at their own STUDIO G in Chicago's Humboldt Park after drummer JOE SEGER officially joined. They nurtured the songs while touring extensively from the US to Europe. COOPER CRAIN handled mixing at a studio in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, achieving a sound that balances the energy of a live performance with the richness of a studio recording. The eight-track album centers on a sound that draws from the roots rock lineage of acts like CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, THE BAND, JJ CALE, T. REX, and LEON RUSSELL, while pulling it into a contemporary US indie sensibility."SUPER GLYDE" where a damp blues feel meets the undulating swell of Southern rock, "MOON EYES" painting the feel of a nighttime highway with its laid-back rhythm, "HARD RIDE" driving a tight beat and repetitive riff with almost Krautrock intensity, "STEPPIN' / TELL ME ABOUT THE RABBIT," "THOUSAND MILES" with its swampy groove carrying a mellow melody—these tracks oscillate between the heat of jam sessions and polished songwriting. The rhythm section firmly anchors the low end, while the recording balance brings the guitar's subtle nuances to the forefront, making it a highlight to listen to. This album connects Chicago's indigenous feel and love for 70s roots rock with a contemporary indie sensibility, capturing the band's "next chapter" in its raw, unfiltered form.
