VOL.2 and VOL.3 of the "GROOVE CLUB" compilation series released by LION PRODUCTIONS in 2010 were well-received as a collection of Cambodian rock/pop (Khmer rock) with extremely rich content, and boasted a solid position among such compilations. Then came the release of the documentary film "DON'T THINK I'VE FORGOTTEN: CAMBODIA'S LOST ROCK AND ROLL," which traces the tragic history of Cambodia, where more than 20% of the population was massacred, and the Khmer rock music was revived in the modern era. With the appearance of bands such as Deng Fever and Cambodia Space Project, the last decade has seen the gradual rise of awareness of this music around the world. And no way, GROOVE CLUB VOL. 4 is coming out after 10 years! To be honest, this is one that I never thought would come out. The main featured singer this time is the great singer Shin Sisamot, known by the nickname "Golden Voice".The Khmer surf killer "Hala Hala" is a Duane Eddy-esque twangy guitar riff. The cowbell in the head is also a point of interest for those who love Mekong. Neuk Oun Chea Nich" shimmers with ethereal pedal steel and is a unique blend of Cambodian rhythms and melodies with Phnom Penh's S-class mood songs and "Western" music such as garage/Latin/jazz.
