Description:
Vivaldi's Concerto Collection with Organ! Ines Moreno Uncilla, a young harpsichordist born in Madrid in 1995, is the son of José Miguel Moreno (co-founder of the Glossa label), one of the world's leading experts on ancient stringed instruments and a renowned musicologist, and his uncle Emilio Moreno, a master baroque violinist and viola player. He was exposed to ancient music and the music of his native Spain from an early age, and was trained by Andrea Marcon and others at the Schola Cantorum Basel in Switzerland, where he won the first prize at the Spanish Young Musicians' Competition in 2018. She continues to win prizes in various international competitions. The first project, entitled "Rediscovered Sounds (Il Suono Ritrovato)," is an interesting program of Vivaldi's works (mostly concertos) with obbligato organs, using two masterpiece organs from 18th century Venice. The organ is hardly the first instrument associated with Vivaldi that comes to mind. However, the "red-haired priest" was attracted to the instrument's rich tonal diversity and the possibilities of the innovative technology of the time, and he left behind a number of fine works for the organ. The 18th-century Venetian organ, a masterpiece of the local craftsmanship of the time, boasts a richly colored tone that makes it an unparalleled model in the history of keyboard instruments. Ines Moreno Uncilla and Giulio de Nardo were both graduates of the same prestigious Swiss conservatory of ancient music, the Schola Cantorum Basel (SCB). Sestiere Armonico, an ensemble established by de Nardo that specializes in the study of ancient music and the performance of ancient instruments, is also composed of colleagues who met at the SCB, including Souko Yoshida. *This deluxe edition comes in a luxury package that includes a 92-page booklet (in English, German, and Italian) with essays by Professor Michael Talbot and Giulio De Nardo and detailed photos and descriptions of the organ.
