Through works by Locatelli, Sanmartini, and Avison, this album portrays the wide range of emotional expression found in Italian Baroque music, from joy to deep sorrow. Highlights include the three-dimensional compositional style symbolized by the dialogue between the concertino and ripieno, as well as the rich sound created by the fusion of chamber music and orchestra. The Swiss early music ensemble Le Moman Baroque and Jonathan Nouvel vividly recreate the charm of this repertoire with a meticulous and vibrant performance, fully conveying the works’ delicate nuances and dynamic energy.
