Description:
Another rising harp star from the claves label! Joel von Lerber beautifully spins a collection of harp works. You will also enjoy his superb compositions such as Mchedelov's "Variations on a Theme by Paganini"! The Swiss claves label has introduced harp stars such as Xavier de Mestre, Emmanuel Seysson, and Anaïs Godoumard to the world. Joel von Lerber is a rising star currently based in Berlin! Lerber, who learned to play the harp at the age of six at the Bern Conservatory, studied with Sarah O'Brien at the University of Music and Performing Arts Basel and the University of Music and Performing Arts Zurich, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Music and Performing Arts Zurich in September 2014.She has won first prize and a special prize at the Swiss Music Competition for Youth (2008), first prize at the Franz Josef Reinl Foundation International Harp Competition (2011), second prize at the International Harp Competition in Mexico (2017), and other prestigious competitions. He is currently a soloist with the Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra, the Thuringian Symphony Orchestra, and other orchestras in Germany and Switzerland, as well as an active performer as a soloist and chamber musician. Sebastian Erard (1752-1831), founder of the Erard Company, contributed greatly to the development of the modern harp. In 1811, Erard introduced the double-action harp, the prototype of the pedal harp. This instrument had seven pedals and a sophisticated mechanism that made it possible to change the length of the strings and raise each note a semitone, allowing it to be played in any key. Later, Wagner, Mahler, Debussy, and others established the harp as an orchestral instrument.French harpist and composer Henriette Lerber (1875-1956), who composed the album title "Legend," was another musician who expanded the possibilities of the harp and greatly influenced harp music in the early 20th century with her outstanding performances and her own compositions and arrangements. Lerber's performance is a fine example of a musician who brought out the beauty of the harp to its fullest potential, and he also plays with great emotion in technical pieces such as Mchedelov's "Variations on a Theme by Paganini" and Rossini's (arranged by Boxa) "Softly and Silently" rondo. Please pay attention to this rising star of the harp, whose future activities are highly anticipated! King International
