Lerber, who learned to play the harp at the age of six at the Bern Conservatory, studied with Sarah O'Brien at the University of Music and Performing Arts Basel and the University of Music and Performing Arts Zurich, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Music and Performing Arts Zurich in September 2014.She has won first prize and a special prize at the Swiss Music Competition for Youth (2008), first prize at the Franz Josef Reinl Foundation International Harp Competition (2011), second prize at the International Harp Competition in Mexico (2017), and other prestigious competitions. He is currently a soloist with the Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra, the Thuringian Symphony Orchestra, and other orchestras in Germany and Switzerland, as well as an active performer as a soloist and chamber musician. Sebastian Erard (1752-1831), founder of the Erard Company, contributed greatly to the development of the modern harp. In 1811, Erard introduced the double-action harp, the prototype of the pedal harp.
