Pletnyov's piano is still wonderful. Here comes the latest recording from March 2021, showing that the Beethoven pianist Pletnyov is alive and well. Although he has been active as a conductor in recent years, the winner of the Sixth International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1987, many people may be interested in hearing more of his piano playing. In 2006, Pletnyov released the complete Beethoven piano concerto cycle with the Russian National Orchestra conducted by Gansch, and shortly after that, he announced his retirement as a pianist. He is now back, but his focus is still on conducting, and it has been a long time since he has made a new piano recording. This is a very important recording that allows us to enjoy the mature performance of a 63-year-old pianist. Takács-Nagy's support is also exquisite. The coupling of a newly recorded ballet adaptation of Bizet's "Carmen" for his beloved wife Plisetskaya by Shchedrin, who is also a close friend of Pletnyov, is also very welcome. King International
